About The Author
First things first, THANK YOU for taking the time to visit this website and for taking enough interest in it to read the about page. I genuinely appreciate it!
My Name is Keenan Berry and Atlas Rex is my brain child. I'm a web designer by trade (kbdesigns360.com) and have recently discovered that I really enjoy writing. It is an incredible creative outlet. I am also heavily involved in the tech industry so I've have done a lot of study on A.I. and use it daily.
Atlas Comics came from the creation of this website. I decided to go ahead and start a full on comic company. Atlas Rex is going to be a six book series, minimum. I also have ideas for spin offs for characters that are yet to be revealed.
I have vivid memories of being a child in my room playing with my action figures. I would shut myself in my room for so long, creating full stories for my action figures, that my parents would come and check on me to make sure I was ok. I remember my parents telling me to clean up my toys, but I would protest because I wasn't done with the story yet. The toys were left out, not because I didn't want to clean, but because I had only hit "pause" on my little imagination land until I could come back and finish the story.
I think this is why I like writing so much. I have the opportunity to create an entire universe around these characters in my mind. Now-a-days, I am able to come up with much more complex stories than when I was six. As an adult I have spent a lot of my free time studying things like theology, biology, quantum theory, evolutionary theory, creation theory, and many other areas of science. I have also studied politics, ancient history, and archeology. In short, I'm a total NERD! I just think science, theology and politics are extremely fascinating.
Enter Atlas Rex. As the 1st book in the series "The Veiled Order" introduces you to the universe of Atlas Rex. I am planning on creating government systems, secret societies with initiation rites, a theological system, and more, all wrapped in a science fiction novel based on real scientific study. I am even planning on using A.I. to help me create a new language to be used for later books.
So what? What's the point of saying all of this?
The point is that I am planning on creating a totally immersive universe for you, dear reader, to get lost in when you have a few moments to yourself. At the end of the day, I am doing all of this for you. That's right, you. I don't know who you are, but I believe that the creator God does, and that He has a purpose for all things including this website. It's my hope that this book series will provide you with solace and comfort in the moments when you just need to get away from the real world. I plan to create an immersive environment for you to wrap yourself in whenever you want.

Where did my inspiration come from for Atlas Rex?

I drew inspiration from a lot of places but there are three book series that influenced my decisions more than others. The over arching story of Atlas Rex follows the female protagonist. I got this idea from the Twilight series. I love the way it is written from a human woman's perspective that falls in love with a super human. In Twilight you got to hear the innermost thoughts of Bella Swan. I felt like this humanized the story line in a beautiful way so I carried a lot of those elements into my story.
Another book series that influenced this story is Harry Potter. While Twilight influenced the emotional revelations in the story, Harry Potter influenced the overall structure of the series. This series is working the reader to a grand finale much like the Happy Potter series did. In Harry Potter, each book reveals more about the world that is hidden beneath the ordinary world and the grand plan to defeat the big bad guy at the end. The over arching story line of the Atlas Rex series is structured similarly to this.
The final book series that I would say influenced this story is the "Dune" series. While I can't claim to have read this series, my wife has... a lot. And she has discussed the "Duniverse" with me... a lot. LOL! I love Dune's complex government structure. The struggle between the houses, and the Bene Gesserit specifically interested me. I love the way this group gained power and how they wield it. I also love the science fiction elements of this series. Dune is an amazing immersive experience for it's readers. I intend to make Atlas Rex similarly immersive.
THANK YOU again for reading all of this and for supporting my work. I look forward to going on this journey with you!
